Introduction
The Flexi Timings system allows you to choose and configure just about any kind of workout timings you can imagine as well as customize text that displays during the workout as well as the colors for each timing interval.
This enables you to build many kinds of workouts such as: Circuit, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Tabata, You Go I Go (YGIG), As Many Reps As Possible (AMRAP), Every Minute On The Minute (EMOM) and more.
Flexi Timings is available in two CloudFit modules:
Flexi Exercises - for displaying exercise videos on your displays along with timings of your choice
Flexi Whiteboard - for displaying images and/or text on your displays along with timings of your choice
Getting Started
On the left, you see the most basic type of timings that can be configured using Flexi timings. We have 2 sets, 40 seconds work, 20 seconds rest. The "Set Marker" signifies when a set starts so the set counter can be displayed on the TVs.
Of course, workouts have many more sets than just 2. To avoid repetition, you can create a "Group" and add timings to that group. You can then configure how many times that group should repeat. In the example on the right, the group is repeating 5 times, so now we have a 5 set workout, with each set being 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds of rest.
The Different Timings
Flexi Timings has 4 types of timings that can be added:
Timing - this the common building block of a workout and represents a single unit of work, rest or some other timing period such as a rest period. You can optionally choose the color to represent the period as well as text that pops up at the start of the timing period.
Example of a regular "work" timing:
Timing Group - a timing group can hold any of the other timings and then be configured to repeat those timings as many times as you would like.
Transition - a transition is similar to a standard Timing above, except that it will show a message the entire period of time. This can be used for things like a "Get Ready" timer a "Get Equipment" timer or "Clean Equipment" timer as you can display text to tell your class what to do.
Example of a transition:Set Marker - this represents the start of a "workout set". The system will count up all set markers in the workout and display a total count on the displays. It will then reduce the counter by one for each set. There is no predefined notion of what a set is, it's up to you how to use this. You can also leave out set markers completely which will hide the set counter on the displays.

Using Flexi Timings
Flexi Timings has been designed to be intuitive and easy to use. However, there are many configuration options as well as a few gestures to learn.
The top header always shows the total time and sets of the configured timings. You can also tap on the header to show additional help and tools.
Tap and hold on the horizontal bars of each row to re-order any timing (including groups). This also lets you move timings inside or outside of a group.
Tap on the little down arrow to change the type of timing set to "Work", "Rest", "Drink" or "Custom". The first three will inherit your workout or system defined colors automatically. Tap on the little pencil to add or edit text for that timing.
Tap on the duration to choose how long this timing should go for. Tap on the circular color swatch to change the color assigned to the timing.
Tap on "Add" to add a new timing to the list.
Deleting Timings
To delete a timing, swipe horizontally on the timing:
Additional Help & Tools
If you tap on the header, there are some additional tools to help manage your Flexi Timings.
You can click "View Timeline" to see what configured timings will actually look like in a step by step fashion (see example on the right).
You can click "Generate Timings" to overwrite your current timings with a basic template for some commonly used timings such as Circuit, Tabata and EMOM. These are not meant to be used directly but just as a way to jump start your timings.
Advanced Flexi Timings
For many more examples of different styles of workouts as well as direct links to the workouts to use directly in CloudFit, please see our Flexi Timings Templates document.
As you get more familiar with Flexi Timings, you may want to try configuring more complex and advanced timings. For example, you can place timing groups within other timing groups which can create timings such as:
Circuit style - where the outer group is the number of stations and the inner group is how many sets to do at that station.
Zone style - where the outer group is the number of zones and the inner group is the number of stations in that zone.
There are also many other possibilities and combinations!
You can also use Timing Transitions for a variety of timings within the workout, for example: exercise demos, getting ready, hydration, moving to next lap or zone and so on.
